When Nature paints the canvas for you..!

Promthep Cape

What do you say when Nature decides to paint a canvas for you? With bright yet fading colors, with illuminating yet diminishing feathers, with vividness yet obscuring corners; the Sunset at Promthep Cape is one of the best you would ever come across. A must visit point in Phuket, people throng here just before the day is about to come to an end. I stood still, like a mute spectator, and dreamy eyes that of a little and wandering kid, as the Sun descended down vertically, and somewhat sideways. The sky seemed to complement the random dance movements of that of the Sun, and painted hues of colors, so spectacular and magnificent to the eyes, that may be synonymous to an experience of a lifetime. As dusk set in, the yellowish tinge of the sky, which peeped out among the floating clouds, gradually turned into reddish orange. Reminiscent of the childhood memories, it quickly decided to hid behind the rock and bid us good bye. With a painting so artistic, with a canvas so elegant, with an experience so memorable, every moment spent here is like a lifetime to cherish!

A quick tour to the Cashew Nut Factory..!

Cashew

More like a Souvenir Shop, this place provides brief insight onto the production and manufacturing of Cashew Nuts. The place is lined up with different products, with the bulk portion of it with various snacks and goodies. A separate portion is earmarked to display the cashews, which can be found available in different varieties and flavors. The cashews are usually tossed with spices and condiments, giving them a unique characteristic feature and identity of their own. Do not expect raw or roasted cashews. Instead a serious look and observation, and you would see a lady dealing with the shelled cashews trying to break open them with individual attention. The flavors available here is what impressed me the most. Sour Cream Onion, Barbeque, Nori and Wasabi were the sheer favorites, with Wasabi seeming to dominate the tastebuds. The sampling here is free, and you get to choose which flavors to buy by trying out the individual flavors. Ranging from small packets to big packets, with pouches to hard covers, the pricing varies accordingly. We decided to buy a mixed packet of four, thereby enabling us to sample a little from everything.

Honey and bees that do not sting..!

Honey Farm

As you enter, you would see a man standing with a wooden rack which holds quite a number of bees. If you ever had been fond of them or would want to see the bees from a close distance, this would quite be a chance for you. The bees remain still, without making much noise or fuss. It was however advised not to venture much close to them. With one part of the attraction of this tour being the bees, the other part was the products made from honey. With details ranging from pure honey to that of an ice cream or even wine made out of honey, the sheer detailing and description by that of the person concerned would make you sit back for the next ten minutes. These products are supposedly to carry medicinal attributes and can even cure some of the deadliest diseases, although that claim would be subject to verification and further proof. Although lucrative and enticing, most of the products are slightly on the expensive side.

The curious tale of the coconut ice-cream!

Coconut Ice-Cream

What’s better to beat the unbearable heat and battle the scorching sun of the summer than to dive into the pleasurable world of coconut ice-cream? Absolutely homemade, with oozes of love, perfection and affection, every bite into this natural ice-cream spoke of satisfaction. The texture was creamy, moist and smooth and the flavor was beyond and comparison. The little chunks of coconut peeping its head out amidst the luscious surface of the coconut ice-cream were a sheer sight to behold. If absolution wasn’t a measure of success, the ice-cream was topped with honey maple syrup, arousing our tastebuds with every single bite. Three big scoops, only priced for 100 baht, and yet it proved difficult for three mortal human beings to give this a crisp finish. Light and succulent, this is one party deal, you wouldn’t want to miss at any cost and a single bite would make you crave for one more the very next moment. Available throughout the streets of Thailand, this is one perfection, shouldn’t be hard to find.

Mango-Banana-Nutella-Chocolate Pancake!

Pancake

Term it a Pancake or a Crepe, this was one dessert which completely blew me off my feet. The streetfood culture in Thailand has always been vibrant and full of flavors, and this was one of the fewest examples to support the claim. While on our tour at Malin Plaza Night Market at Pa Tong, Kathu District, Phuket. I stumbled upon this quaint little joint. With aroma of fruits hovering round the air, it was pretty difficult to control the temptations, and I ended up wondering this delicious peace of heaven. The sourdough mixture was carefully spread across the pan and then the delectable Nutella was elegantly spread upon it. Chunks of juicy and luscious mango, dropping like glitters of rain topped with portions of delectable banana chunks. The entire saga was like a romantic movie in action, with oozes of love dancing inside the mouth. The best part was obviously the sprinkling of the chocolate sauce on top of the pancake. The heavenly combination of the crispy dough, coupled with the juicy mangoes, delectable bananas, creamy Nutella and the rich chocolate syrup was too much for a mortal soul to bear. Undoubtedly, one of the best and rare finds in the streets of Phuket!
